Strength & Stay Campaign Reaches 85% of Goal

Ensuring Music, Faith, & Leadership for Our Future

A 40th Anniversary Campaign for Lutheran Summer Music

LSM is thrilled to announce that over 80 alumni, parents, friends, and families have committed three-year pledges or legacy (estate) gifts, bringing us to 85%, or just over $5 million of our $6 million dollar goal!

Now is the time to invest in our shared future. With a combination of current and legacy (estate) gifts, the creation of endowments, a focus on alumni enthusiasm, and your enduring generosity, it is our goal to secure the future of LSM through the Strength & Stay Campaign.

The Strength & Stay Campaign focuses on four priorities:

Support so far has included student scholarships, studio sponsorships, concert underwriters, endowments, partnerships, and much more. Below Brian, Michael and Nancy, and James and Sarah share why they have committed to supporting LSM through the Strength & Stay Campaign.

I remember that my parents sacrificed a lot to make sure that I had a good instrument, took lessons and then attended a school with a strong music education program. That was life-giving for me, and I don’t think I’d be where I am without that. I know that LSM is the finest faith-based music academy and festival in the country. I want to ensure that kids who have that aptitude receive that experience too.

-Brian Becker

Having served as staff and faculty in the early days of LSM in the 80’s and again in the 90’s, I was impressed with the supportive atmosphere and the attention and skill that the students displayed in rehearsals. It has always been our wish to support LSM in any way that we can. It has truly changed my life and my teaching and our hope is that it continues to change the many lives of the next generation of students and faculty.

-James & Sarah Klein

We believe that good music feeds the human spirit, and that good church music enhances the worship experience—and enhances the Word of God.

-Michael Hovland & Nancy Jones

With the Strength & Stay Campaign comes the formation of the J.S. Bach Society. Much like Bach’s enduring influence over classical and sacred music and the Church, the J.S. Bach Society honors individuals who have committed to LSM’s long-term impact by including Lutheran Music Program in their will or estate plans. Thanks to these individuals for their dedication to the sustainability and influence of LSM on students, congregations, and our community. So far, over 30 people have committed to remembering LSM in their estate plans.
